What a woman chooses to do with her body hair has become such a contentious issue on here, so I thought I’d put my tuppence in because the discussion often leaves me completely vexed.
As a proud feminist, I have absolutely no problem with women doing whatever they like in terms of grooming - I am…
Expected something on abortion. Actually about armpit hair.
A whole array of pubic and other general body hair, actually. Hah.
Yes but armpit hair clearly has more comedic value.
Anyway, I really like the point you made, showing how people only tend to care if anyone else is actually going to be seeing it so it’s not actually for themselves. However, I am wondering if this could actually be for themselves, even it seems contradictory. For example, I may only really bother getting ready if I’m going out - which is probably due to the fact that people are going to see me. However, I still feel as though I do this for myself, whether it’s for my own confidence or whatever reason.
Fair point. To counteract that I suppose I could go into the whole ‘constructed social norms’ argument, but as I said before it doesn’t really lead anywhere and tends to be a bit bollocksy with regard to feminism!
